next sojourn of the Palace on wheels is Ranthambore National Park. Sawai
Madhopur town is located at the entrance of the Ranthambhore National
Park, which is well known for its lush green environs, lakes, meandering
rivers and wildlife.
Ranthambore National park is famous for its tigers and is one of the
best places in India to explore wildlife. Tigers can be easily spotted
even during the day. The Ranthambore National Park covers an area of
nearly 400 sq. km. and is set between the Aravali and the Vindhya
ranges. One can see great varieties of flora and fauna life at the
Ranthambore National Park. And if you are a photography lover, then it
is the place for you!
Chittorgarh, also known as Chittor, was once the capital of former
Rajput state, Mewar, well known in the history of Rajasthan as the land
of brave Rajputs. Chittorgarh is synonymous with Rajput pride, romance
and spirit. The main attraction at Chittorgarh is the Chittor fort,
located atop a hill. The Chittorgarh fort is a depiction of Rajput
culture and values. The fort stands on a 240-hectares site on an 180m
high hill that rises rapidly from the plains below. Apart from its
historical importance, Chittorgarh has a number of temples, including
the Kalika Mata Temple. Another important attraction at Chittorgarh is
the tower of Victory, Vijay Stambh. It was by Maharana Kumbha to
commemorate his victory over Mohamed Khilji.
